Flamenco Battle is a new Belgian-Spanish production that first performed on September 28 2013 in Brussels at La Tentation. Produced by Raul Corredor together with Flamencomotora, sponsored by Licor 43, Flamenco Battle is not a blend of flamenco and hip-hop. As the name suggests, the Flamanco battle is inspired by the hip-hop battles, where the flamenco dancers compete until there is one last survivor standing. Each dancer is given a maximum of 15 minutes to seduce the audience with a solo performance. Next they participate in two "corros" (group playoffs) during which the spectators vote for the winner using iPads. The background hip-hop ambience throughout the show is guaranteed by the 'Sources' urban dance ensemble presented by choreographer/dancer Nono Battesti. The dancers in the 2013 performance were Yasaray Rodríguez, Adriana Bilbao, Victor Bravo and Adi Akiva. Musical accompaniment thanks to David Bastidas and El Niño de Elche singing vocals, Javi Gómez y Raul Corredor on guitar and Roberto Jaen on percussion.
